What to Expect

MPPL is working hard to be mindful of all that is happening in the world today. We had to ask ourselves, how do we best serve the community in these trying times? We are a library, so the answer seemed obvious, we do everything possible to provide access to information and resources that nourish our community’s heart, mind, and soul.

Next, we had to set our priorities. Again, this was an easy one; we want everyone to be healthy. Our first priority will always be the safety of our staff and the community.

We will be making a few changes so we can do our best to move us all forward and wanted to give you an idea of what we are doing to make this all happen.

While we are offering our Library Take Out Menu, our building will remain closed to the public for the time being.

We are following the CDC and Department of Health and Education guidelines, including quarantining all items for 72 hours.

Placing a hold to borrow items:

Go to our Online Library Catalog or call us to place a hold for the items you are looking for.

Scheduling a pickup for your order:

Once we have prepared your order, someone will call you to schedule a pickup. We will ask for some information, like the color and make of your vehicle.

Picking up your order:

When you get to the library, pull into the parking lot beside the library, and stay in your car.

If you can, give us a call.

We will bring your order and place it in your vehicle through a lowered window or in your trunk.

Please have your library card or ID ready so we can verify the order.

For everyone’s safety:

  1. Stay in your vehicle.
  2. Masks are required during the transaction.

Returns:

When it is time to return the items, drop them in the book drop outside the library. The staff is unable to take your returns.

Programming:

In-person and on-site programs are on hold. We are still exploring how we can bring you the outstanding programs you have all come to love.
