About Us

The Mount Pleasant Free Public Library Assoc., Inc. is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization that formed in 1938. We strive to be a community resource while bringing patrons the latest reads and the most modern technology. We serve the borough and the township and beyond. We offer free Wi-Fi and public computers, a large selection of fiction, non-fiction, and children’s literature, as well as DVDs, E-Books, audiobooks, magazines, and local newspapers. We host many children’s, young adult, and adult programs, as well as an impressive variety of special-interest events. We are a member of and share the books and resources of Westmoreland County’s 24 libraries. The integrated library system of more than 108,000 registered borrowers can access nearly one million items throughout the system with one county-wide, free library card. 24/7 remote access enables all county residents to browse library collections, download E-books and E-audios, place holds, and conduct online research from their homes, businesses, or schools at their convenience.
